Tentsmuir Forest
Tentsmuir Forest Tentsmuir Forest

The open, mature pine forest with its towering trees is a great place to explore by bike or on foot. You can follow one of the waymarked trails, or plan a longer day out and take a circular route which links to Tayport Heath and Morton Lochs.

As well as being a working forest, the woodland provides an important habitat for a range of wildlife, including red squirrels and roe deer.

There is car parking at Tentsmuir car park, however the car park is locked overnight and the times of closure vary throughout the year.  Check on entry.  Please note automatic pay barrier requires £1 coin. Children’s play area, toilets and picnic areas are all located close to the car park.

There is limited space in the car park.  Occasionally, especially during the summer holidays and on sunny weekends, it is necessary to restrict access and even to close the site.  This is to preserve the special qualities of Tentsmuir and to maintain a safe environment for everyone.

When we do this we will put a sign at the main junction to Tentsmuir, before the entrance.  Please come back another day.
